Terms of Use

The agreement covering your use of Repast. Section 5 is the one that matters most: it sets out what the allergen features can and cannot promise, and it is written to be read rather than to be survived.

1. Agreement

These terms are between you and Eversight Studio, publisher of Repast. Installing or using the app means you accept them. If you do not, do not use the app.

2. What Repast is licensed to you for

You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Repast on Apple devices you own or control, for household use. You may not resell it, redistribute the recipe catalog, extract the catalog in bulk, or use the app or its content to train a machine-learning model.

3. Subscriptions and billing

  • Planning, the grocery list and cook mode are free to use. The free tier includes 1 AI planning cycle a month and 3 chat refinements per cycle.
  • Repast Pro is an auto-renewing subscription that lifts those limits. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Where a free trial is offered it runs for 7 days, which covers one full planning cycle. If you do not cancel before it ends, it converts to a paid subscription.
  • A subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is switched off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings; we cannot cancel it for you.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policy. We do not process payments and cannot issue a refund directly.
  • Prices may change. A change takes effect at the next renewal and Apple notifies you as its rules require.

4. The recipe catalog

Recipes, photographs and step text in Repast are licensed content and remain the property of their rights holders. They are provided for your own cooking. Recipes can be corrected or withdrawn; when a recipe you have planned is withdrawn, the app tells you and asks you to replace it rather than substituting something silently.

5. Allergens, diets and nutrition — the important limitations

Repast filters recipes against allergen data published with those recipes. That data is incomplete. The app shows four states for every recipe and allergen — contains, may contain traces, not declared, and unknown — and two of them mean the record is silent rather than that the allergen is absent.

Repast does not and cannot guarantee that any dish is free of any allergen. It has no knowledge of the ingredients you actually buy, of manufacturing changes, of cross-contamination in a factory, a shop or your own kitchen, or of substitutions you make while cooking. Always read the packaging on the products you buy.

Nutrition figures are the per-serving values published with the recipe. They are a label, not a measurement of what you cook or eat, and substitutions and portion sizes will change them.

Repast is not a medical device and provides no medical, dietary or nutritional advice. It is not a substitute for a doctor, a dietitian or an allergist. If you or someone in your household has a severe allergy or a medically managed diet, treat Repast as a way to narrow the field before you check, and never as the check itself. The measured state of the underlying data is published at the allergen page so you can judge it for yourself.

6. AI-generated proposals

The week Repast proposes is produced with the help of a language model choosing from the catalog. It can propose combinations you dislike or that do not suit your household. Grocery quantities are computed separately by a deterministic engine on your device, not by the model. You remain responsible for what you cook, what you buy and what you eat.

7. Your content

Photographs, notes and ratings you create in Repast are yours. They stay on your device and in your own iCloud; we do not receive them and claim no rights over them. Because we hold no copy, we also cannot recover them if you lose the device and its iCloud backup.

8. Availability

Planning requires a network connection and a working planning service. The confirmed week is stored on your device and continues to work without one. We do not promise uninterrupted availability and may change or discontinue features; where a change removes something you paid for, Apple’s refund policy applies.

9. Disclaimers and liability

Repast is provided “as is” to the fullest extent permitted by law, without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. To the extent the law allows, Eversight Studio is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Termination

You may stop using Repast at any time by deleting it. We may suspend access if the app is used in breach of these terms, in particular for bulk extraction of the catalog.

11. Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, the date at the top changes and the change is noted in the app’s release notes. Continuing to use Repast after that means you accept the revised terms.
