Privacy Policy
Repast has no account system, so most of what a privacy policy usually covers does not exist here. What is left is worth reading precisely: what stays on the phone, the one request that leaves it, and the three third-party services the app uses.
1. Who this is
Repast is an iPhone application published by Eversight Studio. This policy covers the app and this website. Questions go to hello@eversight.io.
2. There is no Repast account
There is no sign-up, no email address collected at install, no password and no user profile stored on our servers. We do not operate a user table. As a direct consequence there is nothing for us to look up about you by name, and no account for us to hand to anyone else.
3. What lives on your device
Your plans, grocery lists, checked items, saved and disliked recipes, allergen and diet settings, cooking journal and any photographs you take are stored locally on your iPhone. If you have iCloud enabled, they sync between your own devices through your own iCloud account, which is governed by Apple’s terms and not ours. That content is never uploaded to a Repast server.
Photographs you take in cook mode stay in the app’s local storage and your iCloud. They are not transmitted to us, not used to train anything, and not analyzed for nutrition or any other purpose.
4. The one request that leaves your phone
When you ask Repast to plan or change a week, the app sends that request’s minimum context to our planning service: the number of people eating, your allergen and diet settings, your shopping day and cooking nights, any time limit, the plain sentence you typed, and enough of the current plan for the request to make sense.
The service returns a proposal and retains nothing. The request contents are not written to a database, a log, an error-monitoring tool, a queue or a durable cache, and are not used to train models. Your allergen settings can indicate a health condition, which is why this is stated in the app before the first request rather than only here.
Our own backend stores recipe content, versions, publication and withdrawal records, media rights, administrative actions, and aggregate counters that cannot be traced back to an individual request or device. It stores no plans, prompts, preferences, conversations or feedback.
5. Third-party services in the app
Three services operate inside the app, and each collects data under its own policy.
- Firebase Analytics (Google), configured without advertising-identifier support. Used for product analytics: app launches, screens reached, subscription events and error conditions. Events carry a Repast-generated device identifier stored in the iOS Keychain, the date you installed the app, your region, and whether a subscription is active. The identifier is not your name, your Apple Account or your advertising identifier; it does persist across reinstalls on the same device.
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google). Crash and stability reports, including device model, operating-system version and a stack trace, so that a crash can be fixed.
- RevenueCat. Manages the subscription entitlement and validates receipts with Apple. It receives purchase and device information necessary to know whether a subscription is active.
Payment is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card, your billing address or your Apple Account credentials.
6. This website
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising scripts, embeds no third-party fonts or trackers, and asks for no personal information. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. Server access logs kept by our hosting provider are the only record that a page was served.
7. Children
Repast is a household cooking tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Your choices
- Stop the analytics collection by turning off analytics in the app’s settings, where the toggle is provided, or by deleting the app.
- Delete everything by deleting the app and removing its data from iCloud in iOS Settings. Because we hold no copy, that is genuinely all of it — and for the same reason we cannot restore it for you afterwards.
- Ask us anything at hello@eversight.io, including a request to delete data associated with a device identifier. To act on that we need the identifier, which the app can show you in settings.
- Manage or cancel a subscription in the App Store, under your Apple Account. See the terms for the billing details.
9. Legal bases and rights
Where the GDPR applies, we process the planning request on the basis of performing the contract you asked for, and analytics and crash reporting on the basis of legitimate interest in keeping the app working and understanding whether features are used. Where the CCPA applies: we do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may request access to or deletion of what is associated with your device identifier by writing to us.
10. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes with it and the change is described in the app’s release notes. We will not quietly widen what is collected and leave this page as it was.
